Progress photos
Here are some work-in-progress shots to share a bit about my process. This is for my piece ‘Printing’, for the 52 Week Illustration Challenge.
First I rough out the lettering.
Then neaten it up and use tracing paper for the symmetrical parts.
And pencil in this guy. I did these parts separately so I could adjust size and placement later.
Pencil is finished.
Then I start inking. I did the outline in fine liner then filled it in.
I also used a brush dipped in ink to do some of the messy parts.
The ink is finished and the pencil erased. This is ready to scan.
Now in Photoshop, I put the parts together and got the placement right. Then I do some colour correction, add shadows, adjust the lighting, add some texture, and…
…finished!
