New picture book release

This is The Colour Catchers,  written by Johanna Bell.  The story is about a young girl and her grandma who ‘catch’ colours in the bushland of the Northern Territory. To illustrate this one I used a combination of pencil leads to get a rustic and gritty feeling, and experimented with very splashy watercolour to represent the colours growing in the morning light. Out now with Scholastic.
