Emmy nominations announced

The 2015 Emmy nominations have been announced, and two of the wonderful programs I’ve worked on have been nominated, again!  Arthur is up for Outstanding Children’s Animated Program and Peg + Cat received nominations for both Outstanding New Approach to a Series and Outstanding Pre-School Children’s Animated Program.  So proud to be part of the creative teams on these great shows.

Arthur Season 18

Season 18 of Arthur begins airing today on PBS! I’ve been really enjoying working on this pretty lovely show this year.

2014 Emmy Awards

The new children’s program I worked on here in Toronto, Peg + Cat, had a very successful night at the 2014 Emmy Awards last night. The series picked up the award for Outstanding Preschool Children’s Animated Program, and our show’s creator, Jen Oxley won an Individual Achievement in Animation Award.  It’s a privilege to be working on this great show.

Background art for Arthur

I’m delighted to announce that I’ve recently started working on Arthur, a timeless favourite. In fact, I’m told it’s the longest running children’s series. It’s quite an honour. The series has recently transitioned to digital, and I’m developing a new technique for painting the backgrounds digitally. My task is to replicate the beautiful watercolour backgrounds of previous series, quite a challenge! Here are some completed backgrounds I’ve painted so far for Season 18. We’re currently bringing some fantastic painters on board, and production will soon be under way.

Premiere of Peg + Cat

Peg + Cat is a new pre-school show I’ve been working on for the past year here at 9Story in Toronto. It premieres on US TV tomorrow. I’ve been supervising the layout team and working on some designs. It’s a very cute show, can’t wait to see how it is received!

Upcoming installation

I’m proud to announce a group exhibition I’m part of for the full month of September. I’m showing my work at the Oakwood branch of the Toronto Public Library along with Dara Gold and Hilary Leung.  I’m so happy to exhibit with these two very talented individuals, be sure to check out their work.

Art in the streets this weekend

If you are in Toronto this weekend, come for an art filled stroll through the Annex for the annual Patio Art Show. I will be exhibiting my new series of work among many many talent artists in the streets of my favourite Toronto neighbourhood.

The show will be along the store fronts along Bloor Street from Bathurst to Spadina.  We’ll be there from 10am-5pm Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 of July.
